









The AngloINFO business model was originally conceived in late 1999 by founders Mike Hardaker and Wendy Wilson, at that time resident in Cape Town, South Africa. During the early months of 2000 the original plans (both commercial and technical) were developed, the initial programming occupied the next few months, and the first editorial content was prepared, with the first site going 'live' on the French Riviera on 1 September 2000.
In the early years, the focus was on developing the product and know-how, and building the AngloINFO brand. Active selling of advertising products on AngloINFO Riviera began in earnest toward the end of 2003. In September 2004 the founders closed an investment round and introduced experienced international management in order to begin to expand the footprint of the business.
There were six new sites launched in 2005, including the first outside France, AngloINFO Cyprus. By December 2010 AngloINFO had launched 63 local websites in 30 different countries, covering locations as diverse as Sãúo Paulo and Singapore, Lisbon and Luxembourg, Brittany and London and serving over 86 million pageviews every month.

Since its launch, AngloINFO has grown considerably each year and we are expecting to continue this trend into 2012 and beyond.
