Does anyone make torrijas and whats the trick to make them nice and crisp but not burnt?
what are they?
Torrijas are a popular treat at this time of year. They are made by soaking stale bread in sugary milk, some people add honey too. Then you fry them - make sure the oil is very hot to get that crispy outside and squidgy interior. You then drain on kitchen paper and put them on a dish, sprinkle with cinnamon and some more sugary milk. ENJOY!
Awesome thanks roobarb, I'll be giving that a try.
I tried making them today - delicious!
