Dear All, Could you help me, please to spread the word to as many people, groups, organizations as it is possible? I do my best to make my project succeed, but I am running out of the time, so I'd like to ask your help. Yes, here it is again everyone, the day that all Tykes, wherever they are, celebrate the fact that they are 'Yorkshire Folk'. Of course, we realise that there are many people out there who, unfortunately, do not come from 'Gods Own Country', but don't worry; we'll let you celebrate along with us, wherever you're from, Yorkshire folk are generous like that. I left the UK at 18 and moved to Spain (in Mallorca, Granada, Barcelona - Vilanova i la Geltru and Marbella) , after eight years I moved to France, and seven years later I find myself in Italy! I'm just a bit of an aimless nomad, but I'm always curious to hear other peoples' stories. So, how did you end up in Andalucia?! What are your likes and dislikes about your ex-pat life?StatusViatoris
Vic Heaney posted on 09/06/2009 at 17:18I shall be walking from my current home in the French Pyrenees, to the house where I was born, in Blackpool, Lancashire. I plan to take 70 days for the walk and to arrive 70 years, to the day, after I was born. I will be walking an average of 30 kms a day, 6 days a week, for 10 weeks. If anybody wants to follow my planning, preparations, training, and eventually the walk itself (starts on May 15th 2010) my blog address is:www.vicsbigwalk.blogspot.comAny helpful suggestions will be gratefully received.Vic Heaney
Why is the Spanish government or local councils for that matter not stepping in to stop the constant building of new developments? The ones that are completed are just sat there empty, there are literally thousands you can see them all along the AP7 from Almeria through to the end of the Costa Calida. I am baffled, no one is buying especially with the struggling pound at the moment. Surely there has to be an end to all of this? I cant see it is a good investment to buy here now with so much choice and so many properties I would be amazed if things improve certainly in the immediate future. What do others think?
