How long are you allowed to drive on UK plates before you have to change them to Dutch ones? My insurance covers me fully comp for a year overseas so will I have to change it before that runs out.
A person registered as a legal resident in the Netherlands may not own and use a vehicle from another country. Tourists and visitors to the Netherlands may drive their foreign-plated car.
So, if you take up residence here you must re-register your car. If you don't become a resident you can continue to drive it on UK plates - however the vehicle must comply with UK laws, i.e. it must have current UK tax and insurance and MOT, if applicable.
