Has anyone out there done quilting and recommend a good book for me to get - there seem to be so many available and do not want to waste money on a book that is not suitable for a beginner.

I'd like to grow some vegetables and salad plants - only problem is, I don't have a garden! But I have a reasonable southwest facing balcony. Any suggestions as to what I could grow in pots or planters and any tips?

In the UK you can get manure from the local riding stables, can you do the same here?

My Camelia which has been carted from house to house and country to country is looking very sad - the buds have all gone brown and the leaves have brown bits at the edges - any clues as really do not want to loose it.

I'm looking to buy or have made a small garden gate to replace the present one, which is falling apart and pretty rotten. I don't think its a standard width (about 1metre 15cm wide x 1m 20cm high). I'd like to replace it with another wooden one, preferably hardwood and varnished. Any ideas where I might buy one or someone who can make one to fit? Preferably east side of Amsterdam.

We have a load of furniture that needs bringing over from UK. Not a full housefull, mainly beds and bedroom furniture. Can anyone recommend a good, not too expensive removal firm? I suppose it would all go in a big Transit type van.

Sounds silly I know but I've been hunting for a "two handed" oven glove! The old faithfull I brought with me is looking pretty sad and so far I've only seen single gloves!

We have been thinking about doing a house swop this year for 2 or 3 weeks. Has anyone done this and if so what are the pros and cons? What should we look out for and are there any extra costs involved?
