I have just found out that we are eligible to vote for this if we were resident in the UK (had an address) within the last 15 years. We can elect how to vote, either by post or proxy. It seems that one has to renew the right to register to vote every year. If you go to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote you will be able to find more info. As ex-pats we are hearing very little about what will happen if we go out of the E.U.

My lovely terraced house in Lancashire will be available for rent at the beginning of October. It would be absolutely perfect for a (possibly) retired couple returning to the UK. It´s in a location that is 5 minutes drive to the West Pennine Moors, under an hour to the coast (Blackpool, Southport, etc), just over an hour to the Lake District, Peak District, etc. By car, Liverpool and Manchester are under an hour away, but the town has direct rail links to both. Smaller market towns are all within half an hours drive and have bus and train links. It is newly reformed, new carpets throughout. One large double bedroom and a small second bedroom, upstairs bathroom. Lounge and gorgeous dining kitchen. Has a sunny, walled 'back yard' with a shed. Very quiet road with ample parking, and 2 minutes walk to shops, pubs, etc. Town centre is 10 minutes walk, but the property is a minute away from a bus stop. Please contact me for further details and photographs.
Vic Heaney posted on 09/06/2009 at 17:18 I shall be walking from my current home in the French Pyrenees, to the house where I was born, in Blackpool, Lancashire. I plan to take 70 days for the walk and to arrive 70 years, to the day, after I was born. I will be walking an average of 30 kms a day, 6 days a week, for 10 weeks. If anybody wants to follow my planning, preparations, training, and eventually the walk itself (starts on May 15th 2010) my blog address is: www.vicsbigwalk.blogspot.com Any helpful suggestions will be gratefully received. I am trying to locate my long lost friends Gary (Garrick) and Suzie Oliver. Last seen in Long Eaton, England six years ago. I changed phone numbers and lost touch with them. It would be great to catch up on old times and play some golf. If anyone knows of them perhaps they could pass on my numbers or give me a call on: home 0033 298 9387 43 mobile 0033 623 6784 17 Or even give me their number so I can give them a surprise, we were great friends and had some great times together. It would just be nice to know that they are ok and all went well for them. Stuart and Dee
