Cyprus and India signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the 10th of June 2016. The Memorandum of Cooperation relates to the fields of economy, industry, science, and technical affairs. The two countries had previously a teleconference on the 8th of June whereby they discussed the above intended cooperation.
The head of the Cypriot delegation was the Director of the Directorate General for European Programmes, Coordination and Development and the head of the Indian Delegation was the Trade and Industry Minister. The two sides agreed that both sides should work for increased cooperation in the areas of trade, business partnerships in pharmaceutical industry, energy and the agro-industry. Moreover, tourist relations between the two countries were discussed and the two sides agreed that initiatives should be taken to promote these ties.
