Ed Blogger (hate to disappoint you) is not my real name! I am what is called a ‘lifetime teacher’ having started my training on 1972 before spending 34 years in education in England in posts from classroom teacher to Headteacher. I have also been an Ofsted Schools Inspector, a Local Authority Adviser and a National College Tutor. Having moved to Cyprus for the quiet life in 2009, it didn’t take long for some parents to press us to open a school which is now attended by 140 children, has 32 staff and full MOEC licensing.
Education is critical to a young persons future and potentially opens up opportunities and choices. Many people leave their home country and come to Cyprus looking for a better lifestyle. I want to help them make informed choices about education and to engage them in debate about topical educational issues. I also want to reassure them that Cyprus has a lot to offer to young people educationally whether it be state or private education.
