Hamburg, November 2015 – Coupons, free cards, gift items and lots of consolation prizes were poured out at the tombola on the 8th / 9th August, at the traditional “British Flair ” in Hamburg.
The proceeds of the raffle, and other Friends of Britain e.V. organized actions now will benefit charitable projects in Hamburg. Donations totaling 17,500 euros are presented on November 18th, 2015 to the charities in the Anglo-German Club .
This year, the foundation “Ein Platz für Kinder” will receive 12,000 Euro. “Ein Platz für Kinder” builds and supports shelters for children who fell victims of violence. Further donations will go to the Anglican Church of St Thomas Becket, as well as to the cricket club THCC Rot-Gelb Hamburg e.V. for a cricket project with young refugees from Afghanistan.
Wendy Sprock invited to the reception at the Anglo-German Club, where the donation cheques are presented. Over the many years of British Day and the British flair , the association has raised more than EUR 750,000 to donate to charitable projects in and around Hamburg.

The purpose of the association is to develop and strengthen friendly relations between the members of the German and the British nation. This promotion of international understanding achieved in particular by organizing and conducting the annual “British Flai ” (formerly British Day ) on the grounds of the Hamburger Polo Club . “British Flair ” represents the British nation in the form of performances of typical sports, dance, music, theater, comedy, etc. and provides an insight into the British way of life .
