There is only one pro race at the highest category of the International Cycling Union (UCI) World Tour in Germany – and it takes place in Hamburg on Sunday, 24. August 2014. The world’s 18 best cycling teams will be at the start for the 155 km elite race course.
Before the pros, 22,000 hobby cyclists will be pedaling through the city center and metropolis of Hamburg at the age group races. A highligt will be crossing the Köhlbrand bridge over the harbour area.
800,000 spectators are expected along the course, which will completely cordoned off from normal traffic.
Here are the various hobby cyclist courses. The 55 km race – to the west of Hamburg – will start at 7:30 at Alsterglacis/Kennedybrücke, the 100 km race to the south and the full distance of 155 km will start at 7:35 at Klosterwall / Mönckebergstr.
Elite race: 18 UCI Pro Teams will start at 10:55 at Schmiedestraße, and they will follow the same course as the “Jedermann” field before.
The finish will be at Mönckebergstraße from 11:19 to 13:24.
