Amsterdam ‘Local Business in the Spotlight’ Pieter is helping people to be pain free at Gustav Physio.

Thank you Pieter from Gustav Physio for taking time out of your schedule to answer our questions and giving us some insight into you and your services. Living pain free is improving lives !

1. Tell us about your services.

Gustav Physio was born out of a passion for effective healthcare. Health
care should be personal and lead to quick results. Furthermore, periodical
check-ups need to become a priority in order to stay healthy, move,
train and live pain free.

Gustav Physio is one of the few practices in the Netherlands where you can
get Active Release Techniques or ART treatments.

ART is designed to pinpoint and treat the exact tissue that is causing
your pain. This specificity makes it possible to create fast and lasting
results. Whether it is a muscle, tendon, fascia or nerve problem, ART is
the way to go!

2. How long have you been in business?

I started working as a physiotherapist in 2012 and started my own company
3 years ago. First as Expat Physio and since december 2016 as Gustav
Physio inside the Gustav Gym.

3. What is the thing you like most about your work?

Every new client is like a new puzzle, some more straight forward than
others. To solve the puzzle of someone’s complaint is my ultimate goal. If
you can put all the pieces in place, you can create lasting results, and
that gives such a great feeling!

7 What’s your  proudest moments at work?

When people come in with a lot of pain and they walk out without  pain and
a smile on their face, sometimes even after one treatment.

8. What do you think that the expats think of the Dutch people?

At first we can seem a bit too direct… But, once you get to know us, we are actually relaxed and easygoing. And everyone speaks pretty good English.

9. Which products do you offer besides ‘regular’ physiotherapy sessions?

I recently launched a corporate program, where I go to companies and
provide on-site treatment. Convenient, effective and accessible. A great
way to deal with pain in the workplace.

Next month I will be launching a program that provides checkups and
sessions throughout the year. Periodical checkups will prevent injuries
from developing over time while releasing stress, improving quality of
life and overall performance.

The idea behind this program is quite simple. Everyone sends their car to
the garage every year. Why? To prevent it from breaking down. The same
applies to your body. In order to keep everything running smoothly, you
need to take care of it. After all, you can buy a new car, but you can’t
buy a new back or shoulder.

10. What Dutch words should expats learn?
Gezelligheid and schapenscheerder (because it sounds funny)
