Decked out to look very much like an authentic Middle-Eastern bar and restaurant, Beirut Grill really captures the flavours of Lebanon. A relaxing atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating perfect for a family meal or quick drink with friends.
I have only been to Beirut Grill once. I met up with an old friend who recommended it as he has been a regular for a few years and has even booked the upstairs for parties on occasion. On arrival, he had the perfect table just to one side of the entrance.
We ordered a pint of Kronenbourg each which came with a sneaky orange in, which gave it a lovely tangy taste. We also ordered a mint flavoured shisha which took an age to come and we had to ask several people, several times for it. Unfortunately, when it did arrive it was possibly the worst shisha I have ever had in Singapore. There was little to no flavour and the smoke was non-existent. We asked a couple of times for it to be changed or altered but the quality did not improve. When the bill came and we saw ‘shisha – $45’ I felt mugged.
Leaving the shisha to one side, the food was decent. We ordered a chicken shawarma and falafel which were both very tasty if a little on the small side. The addition of proper British steak cut chips was a nice touch though didn’t seem to fit in with the whole Middle-Eastern shtick. There were plenty of families inside enjoying a good spread so news has obviously travelled that the food is worth a go. The staff were very pleasant if a little slow but overall a decent night was had. I would go again, but probably only for a few drinks.
