I've had the worst night ever!! Just broke up with my boyfriend and I'm feeling terrible... he just doesn't get what it's like to be in a different country and away from everything you know... he says I complain too much and don't make an effort but tha's easy to say when you are in your home town with your own language and your friends and family around!! Worst of all all of my friends are his friends so on top of everything I'm alone... wouldn't it be easier just to date other expats? any insights, advice or any charitable people who want to meet up for a drink to get my mind off things?
Hello Group, I wanted to ask a question that I feel may be perfect for this group. We are moving from the US to Bogota next month. I wondered if any of you have insights, which items you wished you would have stocked up on or remembered to bring with you on your move. I have been told measuring cups and cookbooks. Any other good ones? Thanks in advance
hey guys, does anyone know what the laws are regarding noise in apartment buildings? We have a bad case of loud neighbors! I'm ussually the first up for a house party but these are very loud teenagers partying every single weekend on their terrace (conveniently located under my bedroom window) until 6-am. I'm going nuts!
Hello it's me again! I've been trying to figure out how to send things to colombja from the us (so that my family can still mail me post cards and christmas cards and the occasional care package) but for all of those things you are required to write down a post code and as far as I can see there are none in colombiA... Could this be true?
I'd love to know how this was thought of - the format for the dates for retirement!!! Hello! I was wondering if anyone knew of any good events for me to just go and speak with other people, practice my Spanish and socialise a bit, I would like to get to know more people that are either native Spanish speakers or are just like me struggling to learn the language and want to practice! Thanks!
guys I'm taking some vacations and going back home for a while. I really want to take something special and representative of Colombia to my friends. Since I won't be traveling with a big bag I was thinking of fairly small pieces of traditional arts & crafts. Any thoughts to were I can go buy something or where can I look into these kind of things ? Also any ideas of what could be very representative of the culture?
