Hello, I Moved to Lorient a little while ago and I've yet to make contact with any sort of anglophone community. Is there one? Much as I like speaking french I'd really like to talk to people in english once in a while. If you live in Lorient (or there abouts) and fancy meeting up for a beer let me know. Teo

Hi all, does anyone have any ideas about local media in and around the villages of Pontivy. We live nr Le Croisty and feel that our intended busines would be good for both ex-pats and locals, but are unsure about local english / french media that is read! A card in local shops is good I know, but has anyone any other ideas at all? Thanks in advance.
My TV (ex-UK many years ago) has packed up. I thought I was looking to replace it with a PAL SECAM one, to receive French terrestrial as well as sky digital. Having explained this to the expert in our local Carrefour, I understand we need a PAL-I SECAM version in order to view decoded encrypted subscription channels (sky movies and so on). This only seemed to be feasible with the most expensive TV in his shop! Does anyone know anything about this, or does anyone have a supermarket own-brand TV (Orion, Brandt, etc) which can show Sky subscription channels OK? Have also heard of MESECAM - is this anything to do with it?
I am keen to see if there are any other like minded people out here in Brittany (Plemet/Loudeac 22 area) who would like to get together to form a quartet/group. I am a violinist, whose background includes orchestras, quartets, pit bands (musicals and shows) and weddings. If you are interested do send me an email : firstname.lastname@example.org Janey
