Having moved over to northern Brittany recently from the UK, I am hoping to get involved in new music projects preferably a band in Brittany or Normandy. Based in the Dinan area. I have had plenty of experience performing live as a bass guitar player, occasional vocalist and songwriter. Am open to ideas and playing most styles of music but prefer blues, rock and folk music.

I used to find it really useful to find this week's English language films on the AngloInfo website. This now seems to have disappeared, and the cinema listings such as they are do not link to the cinema's website so you have no way of seeing their programme. I feel this revamp has been all about style (admittedly it looks much better) over content and functionality.

We have a few weddings planned at our property this and next year and are getting requests for a Group, Band or Person who sings latest charts songs.  Any recommendations would be appreciated. We have groups who sing oldies and French/Bretagne music, but are after a more modern theme

Hello everyone, my husband and I run a Bar/Restaurant in Brittany. We support wholeheardedly the local musicians, whether they are  British, Breton, Creole or French.  We have weekly concerts which are extremely popular and our bar has become an important part of the local community. At present we are in the process of renovating a Concert room and a a Games room. We are hoping to find Financial input of 7000 euros, by way of a 3 year loan, reasonable interest, all done legally.  If there is anyone who can help us with this we would be extremely grateful.  Please email me for further information. Thank you in advance...

Hello, I am Steve and I play guitar. I have done since the 70's and I am an addict. My tastes are around rock, heavy rock, punk and blues. I arrived in Brittany - 22330 - a couple of months ago. I come on my own in one guise - as an unencumbered guitar player; my forte is playing rhythm and some say that I play in time well. I play some lead guitar and am better in line-ups with only one guitarist but latterly have enjoyed playing with keyboard players. That takes me back to when I started playing - had a 2/3 year stint with The Victor Brox Blues Train (google it). Latterly I have played with the UK based "THe Amplifires" - google band name and 'Life's A Gamble' - and we are still signed. I would like to play covers and also team up with people who have the right attitude to do The Amplifires in France - that is essentially me and Sharon Clancy. We don't have  big ego's. We will play unplugged gigs but thrive on loud, energetic performance. Two things then - a band for me; secondly musicians (drums and bass) to complete a French Amplifires line-up. E-mail info first and I'll respond with mobile/landline numbers. Thanks very much, Steve

This is a gathering of people who want to play and learn about Traditional American folk music: bluegrass, oldtime, stringband, jugband music. (Please note it is not modern American folk or Country.)   Along with singing it is played on guitar, mandolin, banjo, violin, double bass, dobro guitar, autoharp and ukelele.  The weekend is near Josselin (56).  Our facebook site gives you a feel for the weekend.  The jam sessions and workshops are all free.  Email for info.

Another month and a day folks and it will be the time of the year for the great tournament of the six nations to kick off again and we can only but hope for such a great tournament as last years. Now would be a good time for us to do our research in advance and find out what bars around Brittany will be showing all the matches so that a good few of us can get together with other fans and hopefully enjoy a few beers, some harmless banter and some great rugby together. I know that Dave in the brittany pub in huelgoat in 29 always shows all the games so there is one good spot for the fans from that area.  Please ask around and find other spots that will also be showing all matches. They will all be on both french and english tv. It would be nice to get a bit of a list of venues throughout Brittany. Here is the link for the order of the matches and kick off times in both local and gmt http://www.rbs6nations.com/en/matchcentre/fixtures_and_results.php#bp6DkuAuEAYEshzv.97 I would say may the best team win,but boyo's,that is our intention :-) Good luck to all teams Oval love and light Jamie XX

Bass player seeking a new direction. I have been playing in a French rock/punk band, playing copies and writing our own songs. However, I would like to get back to some 70s and 80s upbeat songs. Any musicians in need of a commited bassist within an hour of Baud drop me a line. I have concert experience.
