Student accomodation in lorient. Help!

My son has been accepted at Lorient university in September but only needs accomodation until end of January.  2018 as he then goes abroad for the rest of the year.  I can't find anyone that will accept a student for only 6 months. Everyone wants a year's rent. Do you have any ideas or maybe a room to rent. He is not eligible  for the "bourse". I am a novice at this. Thanks.

Does he have his own transport as we may be able to accomodate......will it be mon-fri, school time only or all week sept-end jan...we live just 20mins from lorient.

Unfortunately he doesn't have a car (he shares mine). If we do manage to sort transport , he will be at Lorient Mon-Fri but also many weekends unless out with friends or visiting home.
