I have seen metal gutters in Brittany which lie one tile up from the roof edge, therefore minimising the impact of the gutters on the wall and windows below it. Does anyone know where I can source it? Photos would be handy.

Most bricos sell them They are generally made of zinc so you could try a zinguerie as well There are also online companies that sell them Be aware that you will need to solder them together and that the brackets screw into the roof trusses so you will need to take off first couple of rows of slates to fix them
