What are the general opinions about Catalonia? Should, and can, the Catalans have independence from Spain? Even if, at the moment, the EU says they wouldn't recognise a separate country, it does look as though things may be changing in the near future.

I'm considering making the move to France and starting to look at the best places to find homes. Found a great french property listing website that cuts out the expensive french estate agents, worth checking out if your considering purchasing a place :) easyfrenchlife (.) com Any other sites you can recommend, it would be great to hear!

If you still can vote in the EU referendum, please do so. If you haven't registered to vote, please do it soon. You can register online. This is an issue that affects all British people who live in the EU and if we left the EU, our lives could be much more complicated here.

Heard an interesting comment on BBC4 yesterday, re, do UK voters really understand what the EU referendum is about, Economics and the future of the UK on the World stage, Or a referendum on immigration, into the UK from Europe and beyond. I'm not sure that the distinction has been made sufficiently clear

Hi All. We're moving to Brittany in June. Please can anyone recommend any reliable, trustworthy and competitive removal companies. We're happy to investigate man with van (well 2 x luton vans is what we we need!) if they're known and trusted - in this case I'd follow up references too. Very many thanks for sharing your experiences and advice.

I am 22 from Guernsey and I have been working in finance for over 3 years but would like a change.  I have visited France a few times recently, particularly Saint Malo and have really enjoyed the area and I have made a couple of friends.  I have been thinking for a while now about possibly moving to France to learn french as I have had some lessons here in Guernsey and I am also teaching myself here and now but I would like to fully be able to speak French and moving there is a real solution to that.  I also enjoy the french way of life and people.  Obviously I would need a job and somewhere to live but I was just wondering for a bit of advice and whether you know where there could be accommodation and maybe opportunities to work for a non french speaking person.  Thank you very much for your time.

The UK government is surreptitiously rebranding the State Pension as a "benefit". It could be paving the way for means testing or even reduction at the whim of Westminster. Please consider signing this petiton.https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/121267.

Hi, I've been following with interest all the various debates on the fors and againsts staying or leaving, the various guessing on what would happen too expats like ourselves regarding right too stay, health care and a few other things, but with all the reasons put forward by the lets leave camp I've not heard anyone lay out what happens the day after if the vote is out, is this going to be the usual English lack of forward planning or is there actually a plan in place. If anyone has any idea of a plan I would appreciate it if they could actually let me know.

The Overseas Voters Bill has just been published   http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/cbill/2015-2016/0043/16043.pdf It is due for a second reading in the House of Commons on 26 February 2016. It is a private member’s bill, not obviously connected with the proposed Government Votes-For-Life Bill which has not been tabled. Mr Chope MP and others introduced this Bill on 7th July last. It is most significant that the second reading has appeared at this time. It is very short and would remove the 15 year limit on voting, thereby restoring voting rights to  all UK citizens resident abroad, which could make it possible to participate 100%  in the Referendum.

Hello everyone I thought I might not be able to vote in the referendum.  However after checking with the electorazl                                                             I thought that I might not be able to vote in the EU referendum. However after checking with the electoral registration authorities, it appears the 15 year overseas registration rule states that you are entitled to vote for a period of 15 years from the date you were last registered to vote in the UK not 15 years from the exact date of leaving. So if you can vote in the referendum, I hope that you will register to do so.         .
