I'm looking for some Halloween ideas for 5 year olds that don't involve trick or treating. Any suggestions in the Woluwe St Lambert area?

Hi, Well its just as the title suggests. We are looking for reccomendations for a creche to send our new son to starting in January 2011 when he will be 6 months old. He is half English and half French. He will get a lot of exposure to French as we live here in Belgium but we want to give him exposure to English speaking also via the creche that we enroll him into. All thoughts and reccomendations gratefully received. Thanks

Hi First I have to say that I am married but my husband will be travelling a lot for work reasons. We just moved to Brussels and I just wonder how I will deal with work and creche pick up times etc. I also would like to have french lessons or there might be other things I have to do without the baby. How do you handle these situations without having your family close??? Thanks

Hi, I've just moved here from the UK with my partner and our 5-year-old daughter. Neither I nor daughter speaks French, and we are missing our friends. We live in Etterbeek, Brussels, and wondered whether anyone with similarly aged children similarly bored would like to get together for coffee and playgrounds? You would save us from going mad! x

Hi there, I arrived in Brussels 3 days ago with my partner and three children (ages 3, 6 and 10, all boys). They are enrolled in 4 weeks of stages over the holsand we will be in the UK for a week but we are stil looking to fill in a few weeks over the summer holidays. Are there any clubs, groups that meet up for english speakers etc that we could join. We are in Brussels 1000 for the next 8 weeks and then we move to Woluwe St Pierre so I'd be happy to go to activities anywhere near these areas :)

I happened upon a new parenting site for expats and wanted to share: http://whileabroad.com/parenting. There's an interesting interview with author "expat expert" Robin Pascoe. I had never heard the term Third Culture Kids before. Apparently there's a movement to help children expats gain a sense of belonging through identifying with other Third Culture Kids or TCKs. Anybody heard about this? I do worry that my daughter will have identity issues as she enters her teen years. There is a "sister site" about adoption. http://whileabroad.com/adopting Very informative, for those considering adoption.

Looking for a venue to stage a child's birthday party and I don't want it to be Mc Donalds! Was thinking of something like a village hall. Does anyone have any ideas please?
