Dear all, I started to live Brussels from this Apr. I haven't had a car, so normally take a bus with STIB 10 voyages ticket. There may be 2 different bus lines in Brussels, one is 1 or 2 digits (i.e. 3, 42, 80) the other is 3 digits (i.e. 318, 410). Does anyone know if my STIB ticket is available for 3 digits bus line? I hope you could understand my poor English... Thank you, Saku

Hi and welcome to Brussels. W=From what I can tell from their website, the ticket is only valid on the 2 digit buses. Do double check with the driver of the next three digit bus that passes you however!

As long as you are within Brussels then you're fine.  Any public transport, train, tram or bus, 1, 2 or 3 digit numbers/letters, TEC, De Lijn, whatever.

At least that's what I've always understood.

Thank you vm:)

Depending on where you are or where you want to get to, the JUMP ticket is valid on De Lijn a little bit beyond the Brussels boundary - for example in Wemmel where I live.  To know exactly what the limits are you have to study the city route map and look out for stops marked 'MTB'.  These are the limits to which your JUMP/MTB is valid.  TEC do not operate a similar system, they are strictly within the Brussels boundary.

Further to my message above, if you are using public transport twice a day or more you should get yourself a MOBIB card and a monthly abonnement.  The card costs I think €5 and is valid for five years.  A monthly abonnement costs €45 for STIB only and €54 for MTB which includes De Lijn etcetera.  If you live more than 3km from where you work you may qualify for a tax rebate, for example the taxman pays me €30 out of my monthly MOBIB cost.

Sorry for the delayed response.

My ticket is printed the following message:

10 voyages - jump 10 ritten rest

*De Lijn TEC SNCB / NMBS

As your previous text, I can use all of above lines WITHIN Brussels. Is my understanding correct?

Thx.

Saku

Err I think i said this a few days ago, or don't you read the replies?

Bob,

I had a 10 ticket but I didn't tell if it is MOBIB or JUMP.

When I took a De-Lijn bus from Brussels to Zaventem, I could use the ticket, but when I returned from Zaventem, I couldn't.

Thx for your help :)

@ Brusselsrower : This is to you Sir. I know, its an OLD conversation thread for which I'm responding and I need more details on your below comment -

==============================

My question to you is, can I too claim for this tax rebate? To let you know about my status in Belgium, I'm on Expat status coming from India and have been working here from last 6 months and have been using MOBIB since then. I live in Brussels and work in Tervuren and travelling by TRAM daily. I'm on work permit and pay ONLY Tax and NOT Social security in Belgium.

So, can you please let me know if I'm eligible to claim €30 out of my monthly MOBIB cost as how you do ? If yes, then let me know the procedure. Thanks a lot and have a great weekend.
