House Sales in France

Hi all, Our house is sold subject to the final Act de Vente. Can any one clarify which clauses we must have in the Act to prevent the buyers claiming money back in the future. We have heard of many problems regarding this. Has anyone had bad experiences and wish that they had done things differently? Thanks for your help.

Hi Susi

This is what your notaire is for.  I am sure that there are a lot of people on this site who know a lot about house purchases and sales, in France, but you really do need to be guided by your notaire..  Explain everything that you require and he/she should sort it out.

Whatever you decide, I hope that your sale goes through smoothly and that you will be happy in your new home.

Tigger`s advice is absolutely correct.

But from our experience, it is the Compromis that is the more important document.

It contains the `conditions suspensives` and if all the conditions are met by the time you sign the Acte de Vente, then there is no come back by the purchaser, plus you must also go through with the sale.

But get all the facts from your Notaire ahead of time.
