Carp Fishing nr Huercal Overa

Hi all My wife and I are visting Heurcal Overa from Jan -March 2015 to escape French Winter. I am a keen Carp angler and wonder if it was worth bring my fishing equipment with me? I am   new to this part of the world, so can anybody advise me of any good carp fishing in the area? Many Thanks Stephen

I don't know about carp fishing but just outside Huercal Overa are some large lakes that I have visited a couple of times and seen people fishing. The lakes in winter do have a large population of cranes, I presume these will affect fish numbers but they don't appear todeter hardened anglers..
