We are thinking about moving from France to Spain and would like to spend about 3 months this winter in Andalusia, preferably mid November to mid February. It is just the two of us, no pets. Does anyone know anyone who has a gite or seoomthing they would be prepared to let for this extended length of time please?
Having lost most of our capital due to endemic corruption in Cyprus, we are now hoping to move to the Malaga area. I have heard that Spain has similar problems however, and cannot afford to be bitten twice. Could anyone PLEASE recommend a trustworthy lawyer and honest property agent/s? Also, if we want to be near to Malaga, but in a quiet, non-tourist area with amenities, that is not expensive....can anyone please suggest the area/s to short-list? Many thanks indeed!
Hello there Ex-pats, we are living in Brittany and thought it may be a good idea to visit southern Spain for periods during the winter months, it does rain a great deal at this time of the year in this part of the World and it can get you down, so perhaps a few months away in a warmer climate would be good for the health and temper! We will be travelling with our two little lhaso appso dogs so can anybody advise us on how to find accomodation in small villages not using the usual agencies who are in general pushing hotels and expensive prices, plus any other advice generally, places to avoid, etc. Life on a fixed budget does have it's dissadvantages but how wonderful to be retired foot loose and fancy free. So thank you for your advice in advance it will be much appreciated. Kind regards Malcolm & Gilly Rogers
AngloINFO Costa del Sol has added a new section to the site: Property. To help with this addition, we've put together some FAQs which we hope will be helpful for you. I’ve noticed some changes on AngloINFO – what’s going on? Well spotted! We’ve just released a new section called AngloINFO Property. It’s currently in beta (testing) mode so we’ll make a big announcement in the next few days when we’re confident that everything is working exactly as it should. In the meantime, feel free to look around and use it, and if you come across any issues, just let us know. email@example.com What is AngloINFO Property and why should I be excited about it? AngloINFO Property is the name of the new property section on AngloINFO. Here, you can search through hundreds of thousands of properties to buy and sell, to find the one that’s perfect for you. You can access the new AngloINFO Property section from anywhere on AngloINFO by clicking on “Property” in the top navigation bar. http://property.angloinfo.com/costadelsol In the new section, we’ve been able to introduce some great new features like Google Street View, Google Maps showing local amenities and email alerts for properties matching your search criteria. We’ve also improved the overall experience with more (and bigger) images and the option for related documents (such as floorplans) to be uploaded to the property listing. In addition, we have lots of Information Pages about buying and renting property to help you base your decisions on reliable facts. We’re pretty excited about all of this – and we hope you are too! Does this apply to Holiday Property as well as Residential Property? Yes! In AngloINFO Property you can search for (and advertise) holiday rentals as well as properties for sale and rent. http://costadelsol.angloinfo.com/property What will happen to property ads in the Classifieds? They remain unchanged for now but over the next few weeks they will be phased out as the functionality of the new AngloINFO Property section allows you to do so much more. What’s the best way for me to find a property to buy or rent, or a holiday property to rent, on AngloINFO? The new AngloINFO Property section has hundreds of thousands of properties all over the world for you to choose from, so we’d recommend you start your search there. Until we move all of our existing property classifieds over, you’ll still find some great properties in our Classifieds section too, so be sure to look there as well so you don’t miss anything. http://costadelsol.angloinfo.com/property http://costadelsol.angloinfo.com/classifieds Why can’t I add a new Classified to the Residential Property or Holiday Property categories? The new AngloINFO Property section offers many more features to help market your property effectively. Over the next few weeks we’ll phase out properties from the Classifieds altogether, so we’ve switched off the option to add new ones. We hope that you’ll advertise your property via AngloINFO Property and see the benefits for yourself. http://property.angloinfo.com/costadelsol/account/products I have a live Featured Classified on AngloINFO - what will happen to it? If you have a live Featured Classified, it will still show in whichever Classified category you paid for it to appear in. If your ad is still live when we switch off the property classifieds, we’ll migrate you over to the new AngloINFO Property section – but don’t worry, we’ll email you in advance to let you know what will happen. If you’d rather move your property ad to the new AngloINFO Property section now, just contact us and we’ll be happy to help. firstname.lastname@example.org What will happen to existing basic Classifieds? We hope that people with basic Classifieds will decide to advertise their properties in the new AngloINFO Property section! Eventually, existing basic ads will disappear when we switch off the property sections of the Classifieds but we’ll email everyone in advance so that they know what to expect.
Hi everyone, we looking for some 'first hand' advice on the Costa del Sol. Currently, we live in France and we are toying with the idea of relocating either to Portugal or Spain. Not knowing a great deal about either countries, we are looking for some general info/advice on Costa del Sol and surrounding area regarding cost of living/utilities/healthcare etc, property pricing and areas ( good/bad etc) what the quality of life is like, bars/restaurants, climate in winter etc. A big ask I know, but generally, any advice that can help look in the right places for the info etc. We envisage learning the language (as we did when we arrived in France) and integrating into Spanish life as best we can. Many thanks in advance for any pointers, links and advice
Hi All, I'm moving to the area in about a month's time, will be working in Puerto Banus/Nueva Andalucia area. I have been looking for an apartment but they seem quite expensive so was wondering if anyone knows about sub-letting rooms etc in Spain? Also if anyone you know is renting a room let me know! I wouldn't mind sharing a place with other people if anyone is looking to rent out a room. Any other advice also welcome! Thanks, Michael
Hello Costa del Sol We will be travelling via the St Nazaire - Gijon ferry from our home in France to Spain for a short touring holiday in our camper. We haven't holidayed in Spain for many years and would welcome any general advice on campsites, wild camping, B&B or small local hotel accommodation during September. The plan is to travel from Gijon through the Picos towards SW France. (Yes, I know it will probably rain!). It's really a taster for us, hope to spend more time in Spain next year. Do you have the B&B/ Chambre d'hotes type accommodation? If so, what is it called in Spanish, what should we look out for while on the road? Looking forward to your advice. From Vixter in a rather coooooool Brittany.
Hi I hope you can help me, my husband and I are coming to malaga at the end of august for 2 weeks, haven't been before and wondering if there are many apartments in a central location for rent?, is it busy there this year? What's the going rate for rental? hope you can help, please post a reply regards

Hi I am a 19 year old British citizen who has been living in France for the last 8 years, currently as a student on a preparation course for a business school studying in Le Havre, Normandy. I had made plans to spend my summer in Majorca, travelling with a company specialising in providing working holidays to young people however due to an administrative error I was informed at 1 O'Clock on the morning of my flight that I had no accommodation. I am therefore searching for an alternative solution to spend my summer in Spain as I desperately want to improve my Spanish and become trilingual (I already speak fluent Englsh and French). I like to consider myself quite a well rounded human being. What I mean by that is that I can do almost any kind of job. I have gained experience in outdoor and garden work from many long weekends helping my parents, and I worked as a labourer two years ago as a summer job. I have 3 dogs, chickens and once had as many as 5 cats so I am an animal lover and I know how to look after them. I am also good with kids, I have 2 half brothers and 1 disabled half sister and my most recent seasonal job was working in a summer camp. I am also a pretty good cocktail mixer, and I love jobs where I can use my language skills to my advantage and I have been paid for translation jobs on many previous occasions so I will pretty much take most kinds of work. I am not looking to make any profit at this stage of the summer so I will be happy to work for board and lodgings somewhere vibrant and dynamic where I could interact with a lot of Spaniards. Please get in touch with me quickly as I would like to come to Spain as soon as possible. I am available until the end of August. Thanks for reading Charles
Haveing the house rewired and the meter box put outside as Sevilliana would not reconnect with the meter insise the house. As I have to go to Endesa when I am over in September to arrange connection does any one know if they will accept payment by UK debit card or does it have to be done at Banco Sabadell with a debit from Spanish bank account, whilst I dont object to opening an account I do object to paying a fee of 25 eur. per quarter just to pay the electric bill on a property used 8 weeks per year.
