Sierra Nevada Ski

Morning all, Does anyone have experience of the Sierra Nevada ski resort? Just wondered if they offer a ski school for children? We would be looking to put our 7 year old in each morning and then we'd ski with him in the afternoon (provided his lessons are a success!!)  I can see info re: ice rink and creche facilities but I was thinking more along the lines of actual tuition for him. Also (sorry for all the questions) could anyone recommend where to stay? We have a place in Baviera Golf and were planning on driving up to the ski resort for five days or so. Thanks in anticipation, Angela

Hi Angela

The is an English Ski School run by the British Ski Centre: Telephone: +34 646 178406 / +34 670 461330

Accommodation - there are some places that are on the hill on the way up to Sierra Nevada which are cheaper but you will have to drive to go to the village and the ski lifts. This doesn't really matter though as you can park your car right at the lifts. There are plenty of hotels in the village, but they may be booked up now that there is plenty of snow. If you go further up the hill from the village, there are some places where you can access a chair lift to get down to the main ski lifts. An example would be Hotel Montesol Artyco. Not the fanciest place, but good prices. Not ideal for kids though if you want to get them going early for lessons.

Hope this helps.

Thanks - I've got a few to look at so I'll add that to the list.
