A red female cat, red tabby was found in Nueva Torrequebrada yesterday under assault by two shar-peis. Due to the intervention of a nice English lady the cat got away alive. The cat is now with the kind staff at Veterinary Clinic Torreblanca (http://torreblancavet.com/index.php?ln=en) , it has no micro-chip. We will get photos up on our web site shortly. Must have owners, or has been recently abandoned in our area as she is very friendly, and human loving even if she was almost eaten by two dogs while the owner of the dogs were watching...Please contact us or the veterinary clinic if you are missing a red female tabby, approximately 6-12 months old.Best regardsHenry and Isabelhttp://pets.pymatique.com/ -- Help us aid animals on the mean streets of Spain. We are hoping to get like minded people together to have a fun day out with or without their dog(s), as well as fun dog classes, we will be having some demonstrations of Flyball (fast, fun sport where dogs have to jump over 4 jumps, release a tennis ball from a special box, then bring it back over the 4 jumps) and The National Code (which are courses in good dog behaviour on the lead, at the vets/groomer, in/out of car, through gateways and more, with the chance of gaining their Bronze certificate, then silver and gold if they so wish to). Also there will be food and drink at very reasonable prices, plus stalls selling all sorts of goodies. If anyone is interested in having a stall at the show we would be more than happy for you to come along, cost of stall 5 euros. Why not bring the family and your friends, there will be a face painter here for any kids that come along. If you would like to compete please could you call us in advance to book your place as we are having to limit how many dogs can take part. We like to think that all our events are special but the sunday morning walk along the Paseo Maritimo to Carvajal certainly fits the category for dogs and people alike. This is an annual event and it happens this coming Sunday 15th Novemnber. We assemble in the car park of the Castillo Fuengirola and register. You can take part strolling without a dog or taking your own dog for a lovely walk or perhaps taking one of the dogs from the shelter with you. The walk starts at 11am and we will be taking registrations from 10am. For those wishing to walk a PAD dog we will bring them from the shelter to the car park where walker and dog can choose each other !The distance is 6 1/2 kilometres and the finish is at the Carribean Bar Carvajal where you can slake your thirst (not that there are not plenty of other opportunities on the way), enjoy our delicious BBQ and take part in whatever raffle and auction we have arranged for you.We will get the PAD shelter dogs back from there to the shelter so you do not have to walk them back ! But remember if you came by car to the Castillo that is where your car will still be unless you can make an arrangement with friends. Now the whole idea is to raise money for PAD so we are asking you to get friends and relatives to sponsor you on succesful completion of the walk. You can get sponsor forms from the shelter or e-mail email@example.com and we will send you one by e-mail.You can return sponsor forms and money to any member of the committee, to the shelter or to Suzanne´s Beauty Spot, Centro Nordico.See you on SundayBarbara
There are numerous animal charities in the Malaga Province dealing with the appalling problem of our abused, abandoned and neglected animals. Some of the charities are well-funded and supported; others are often single individuals who have suddenly found they are acting as a refuge with little means of help and assistance. BUT what if ALL the animal charities and worthy causes came together and used their joint resources and numbers to influence local government and suppliers? Just think what we could achieve working together... Well that’s just what Nick and the team from Pepi’s and GPAR are trying to arrange with the support of CHAIN – Charity for Animals In Need. On Tuesday 24th November 2009 from 10am to 4pm there will be the first ever event for the Andalucía Animal Network. The aims of the event will be to agree how we can co-ordinate our work to maximise the benefits for all animals. For example using our group purchasing power to secure best prices for animal food and services and lobbying local government. We also hope to have a guest speaker at the event and it will be very informal, with all ideas and suggestions encouraged. The Hotel Molino de Saydo based at 29532 Mollina Malaga (Junction 142 off the A92 to Sevilla) has very kindly donated the use of the room and CHAIN will supply the refreshments. The event is FREE to anyone involved in working with animals in the Andalucía region. Please contact Wendy at CHAIN to book a place or for more details, tel 672 399 320 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We are a hardworking, dynamic couple in our 30's looking for generous, open minded, animal loving investors. We have a dream to establish and open up stray/boarding kennels/cattery. In our many experiences of travelling in Europe we have seen the vast problem of stray and unwanted animals. Our emphasis being on dogs and cats. We find this deeply saddening and upsetting. We have visited several stray animal sancturies and have been touched by the hardwork and dedication of the workers but the ever increasing problem means there is never enough room and money to cope with the numbers. We would love the opportunity to help these stray animals with somewhere safe to stay until a new home is found. Unfortunately this is a project we cannot yet afford to fund ourselves. We are looking for likeminded animal lovers who may be able to help us fund this rescue centre by providing a property/land and financial backing. We both have lots of experience in caring for animals. If there is anyone out there who think they may be able to help please get in touch
