Does anyone know of a scheme here to get stray cats neutered? There are a lot around my area and I'd like to do something to help them.

Where are you? There are some animal charities operating, but you could maybe contact some local vets and see if they wanted to get involved, maybe even do some crowdfunding to cover costs?
