Discussion on schools for my daughter

You will find that it very much depends on the individual family. You say you will be in Cyprus long term - how long term? What if your situation changes and you need to leave?

If you will definitely be around long term there is a lot to be said for local schooling - especially as you don't have to pay for it and this is not cheap. You are looking at €600ish per month for a 4 year old depending on the school if it's private and that will increase each year plus books, uniforms etc. If you plan to have more children that also factors into the cost. But if you need to move on then an international school may have been a better option.

By being in a local school your daughter will be fluent in Greek very quickly and find it much easier to communicate and socialise locally - but they might not use an education system that you are familiar or comfortable with, which an international school might.

Bear in mind that state schools don't start kids at the same age as international schools so you need to think about nursery as well.

Maybe draw up a list of pros and cons for each option and see which one you are happier with.
