We paid the part-year tax on our boat last year when we arrived in France, and we thought we would get a bill each year, but nothing has shown up. Does anyone know when/whether we should expect a bill, or whether we need to go back to the Douane? Also, do any sailors know whether US-documented boats need to clear-in at every port when moving around France/the EU? We formally imported the boat as part of our demanagement into France, but we need to know whether we need to clear into, say la Rochelle when we sail up there in the spring.

Having hardly been out on my bike for a year or so I would really like to get fit again and ride with others some of the time. With spring around the corner (I hope), is there anyone out there who would like to join me in road rides? I am not fast enough to join the local cycling clubs (appears to be men only anyway) and I don't know of any women's groups but maybe there is someone else out there in the same position. We live at Rouffignac St Cernin and we could maybe meet at different places for rides. I hope there is someone out there keen to get out on their bike again too! Please get in touch. Regards, IngB

We are in the process of extending our garden. When we have finished it is my intention to construct a small, 50 metre archery range with one or two butts, plus the necessary stop netting of course. I was wondering if there are any local archers out there who may be interested in forming a small and informal shooting club/ association. You would need your own equipment as my wife and I only have our own bows. I would hope to be up and running by the spring. Terry. Terry CorderyAnother retired teacher.
Hi there everyoneWe have been here a while now but are only now getting a bit of time to enjoy some old pass times, like the odd round of golf! I have read the list of clubs both here and in the Charente as we are nr the border at Parcoul. Can anyone give more of a pointer as to which are good and which are avoidable - for the time being I don't have the time to try them all!!!
