Hello, I will be moving to Geneva soon for a new job and am looking to live across the border in France. I have a horse which I will also be bringing and am interested in finding stables which have good outriding. I also enjoy dressage but really want to be able to ride out on forest trails on the weekends. We are just starting to search and I've been looking at the commute into Geneva and house prices. I think we will be looking in the area of Sciez. Does anyone have experience of stables in that area and is there good hacking available? I considered Pays de Gex but the commute looked a bit longer. Many thanks for any advice on areas to look at. Allie
Hi All, I have an international Boat permit for Sailing and Motorboats, no power limit and up to 24m, obtained 6 years ago in Italy. Ridiculously this is not valid in Switzerland so I'm willing to rent a decent boat in France. does anybody know any motorboat rentals in France but next to Geneva? somewhere beteween Geneva and Yvoire would be perfect I'm not interested in 10/20hp boats or boats with drivers further to this, does anybody know any source where to find navigation rules for the lake? (in case there are specific ones for this lake) thanks all in advance for your replies Alberto
Hello there Can anyone help me as I am a little confused having received lots of differing information. I am a Brit living in Vaud and hold an ICC - International Certificate of Competence, for the coastal waters of Europe. We are getting a motor boat transported here (10m) and I have been told, all I need to do is to take CEVRI test (theory test), which extends the certificate to include European waterways and inland waters. Now someone else is telling me I may need to do a practical exam. Any advice would be much appreciated or even an address where I can get the information from. Thank you
Experienced deckhand looking for yacht or dingy sailing/racing on Lake Geneva. I've recently moved to Geneva from the Isle of Man, where I crewed on a J-Boat, Sigma 33 and Sonata. I'm now looking for opportunities on the Lake and any advise on local sailing clubs, unfortunately my French is still very limited. Please let me know if you are looking for crew, know anybody who is or can recommend a good club to join. Thanks David Preston
I have a boat which is registered in France. I'm wondering if it's possible to bring it to the lake here and keep it on the French side somewhere and then use it on the lake. Does anyone know what the rules are for bringing a french registered boat across to the Swiss side just for messing about in?

Hi, I've only just moved to Prangins with my family and went for my first run yesterday evening, by the aerodrome and down by the lake. What a stunning place it is here! Are there any neighbouring runners out there who'd like to run in a group? Or perhaps there already is a running club? Thanks Deborah
Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone might have an interest in the traditional sailing lateen boats seen on Lac Leman. We have a lateen (Approx 5m) that has been lovelingly restored over the last few years that we are sadly having to sell. Any advice on how best to sell scuch a boat in the area would be much appreciated. Thanks Matt
Hi! My name is Sabeehah, and I am a South African high school student living in Geneva. A group of friends and I are in the process of creating a new Girls Football team in conjunction with a club in Vessy. The team would be made up of a diverse, friendly and committed group of English-speaking teenage girls. Trainings would be twice a week, and some matches would be played on weekends. However, we need more people to make this team happen. If you are between the ages of 14 and 17, and you would like to play with our team, or you know someone who is interested, please send me an email so that I can forward the information. firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Hello, My husband and I met in Geneva 2 years ago, and last year we quit the rat race and moved to a ski resort! We now offer chalet accommodation in nearly 40 properties across the resort of La Tzoumaz both through our website 4vallees4saisons.com and through Interhome. We would like to make it easier for people based in Geneva to have great ski trips, so we are thinking of creating a weekly bulletin with a "clearance list" of our empty chalets that we would make available for weekend reservations at a reasonable price. Just fill in the sign-up box on the right hand side of the page. http://4vallees4saisons.com/chalet/weekend-ski-verbier-4-valleys-chalet/ Let us know if this would interest you, and we'll set it up! For more about La Tzoumaz and its connections to Verbier's massive 4 Valleys ski area, see the "4vallees4saisons.com" website, blog, or facebook page. Hope to see you on the slopes this winter! Percy Kirkman 4vallees4saisons.com P.S. We still have some great chalets and apartments available for Christmas week: mention Glocals and we'll give you a nice discount!
