Ive just moved to Geneva recently with my husband and still waiting for certain paperwork to come through before starting work. In the meantime Im keen to make the most of my off time by learning to ski as I am free in the daytimes. Im quickly finding out there are great places relativey nearby for quick day time trips/ lessons. Is there anyone out there who might be in a similar position as me..? Please get in touch if it appeals- even if you may be advanced and just want a skiing partner thanks.,
Hi French/Canadian/Scottish couple, late 20s. We are new to the Haute Savoie / Geneva area and are looking for fun things to do in our spare time. Can anybody recommend a good weekend market with local produce, or good towns to visit, nice nature trails to follow etc? Also, does anybody know of a 10 pin bowling league in the area? I'm keen to get involved in a sporty team of some sort. Thanks very much
I am taking my wife on a 7-day Geneva-based holiday on 17th February when we hope to do some ski-ing. We have hired a car from the airport and will be staying (self catering) at Gaillard (5 km South of the Airport). We will probably wish to ski for some or every other day or even every afternoon of our stay, we don't like travelling much but have been to Chamonix and La Clusaz in the past. Could anyone recommend (a) good ski resort(s) near to Gaillard, the best way to get skipasses and ski equipment for the duration of our stay. As we are approaching our 60's and not very athletic, simple runs are preferred and getting good value for money is always a problem so any tips to avoid major blunders (during this recession!) would be of great help. Also any tips/advice about road toll charges would be appreciated. Chris
Hi! I recently moved to Geneva after graduating from a equestrian university in Sweden. I am now looking for a job as an english or swedish speaking instructor for people with their own horse/pony, or at a riding school. Hope to hear from you! e-mail: email@example.com
Please drop me an email if you own a Mirror and use it on Lake Geneva. I have recently bought one over from the UK and have heard from several passersby on other boats saying that they have seen red sails on the lake before, notably in the Geneva and Nyon areas. I'd love to here from you! Thanks so much. Sarah
Hi, I am a 30 year old Australian female living in Vernier Village. I am looking for someone who would like to walk a few kms during the week. I would appreciate the company and motivation of having another female to do this with. If your interested, I look forward to your response. Tab Thanks
I am looking for a really small natural campsite to take my two 'famous five' and 'swallows and amazons' crazy daughters to this summer. Ideally we just want a pretty field surrounded by woods with good climbing trees, a babbling brook and permission to have a little campfire in the evening...ha ha! don't suppose that exists anymore so would settle for any ideas of campsites in the region or even further afield....any suggestions very gratefully received!
