What makes us special

German and English are spoken at our bilingual campus, bringing a Nursery school, Primary school and Secondary school together under one roof. We are proud of our family atmosphere which provides an optimal learning environment. We also place great importance on the individual development of our students, helping them to recognise and develop their strengths at an early stage. Our educational offer is targeted at both German and international families.

At home in two languages

German and English are our school's working languages and are used in lessons as well as informally in social settings. Educational specialists who are also native English speakers teach English according to the immersion method. By using the language every day, supported by gestures and facial expressions, children are immersed in the language and acquire it naturally. In this way, they gradually become true bilingual speakers.

Nursery school

Our Nursery school is open to children as young as 18 months. Based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and the Hamburg Education Programme, we encourage little ones in their development right from the earliest stages. Children learn English and German in a playful way, as well as basic mathematical principles. Students do not need to have any prior knowledge of English. Spacious rooms and age-appropriate outdoor play areas provide enough space for movement as well as creative activities in music and art. There is also a large activities room available inside for sport and exercise. In the Reception class, children are gradually introduced to the school day. Regular nature trips around the local area support their own faculty for discovery and playful learning. We are open from 7.30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Primary school

In addition to the core curriculum guidelines laid down by the City of Hamburg, we also teach English, Mathematics and Natural Sciences in accordance with the renowned Cambridge International Primary Programme. Lessons take place in both English and German to give students fluency in both languages. Our teachers leave room for creativity, independent learning and discovery. We teach natural sciences in a playful way from Year 3 upwards. Each student has access to a computer and can borrow books from the school library. Our Year 3 students regularly take part in Hamburg official educational assessments and we are extremely proud that they achieve above-average results.

Secondary school

Given that our students have a high degree of fluency in German and English from Year 4 upwards, they start to learn Spanish from Year 5. From Year 8 onwards, they can choose an optional subject from the fields of natural sciences, business or music. Students who transfer to our school are supported by a special language programme. Our lessons are interdisciplinary and interlinking, thereby placing the focus on individual development. All students work towards their Abitur (university entrance qualifications, equivalent to British A-Levels) and we will start to offer an internationally recognised diploma over the next few years. This will not only give students wider educational horizons but will also improve their chances of being accepted into renowned universities abroad.
