My husband and I are moving with the times and buying a smart phone. The problem is it says it takes a 'micro sim'. We looked this up and apparently they are smaller than the normal sim card that we have. It's on a pay as you go basis with 02 in the UK. Where do we get a micro sim from to replace the larger one and still keep the number?
The lamps are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our lifetime, These are the words spoken by the foreign secretary of the time on the 4 August 1914. LIGHTS OUT is an initiative encouraging everyone to turn off their lights between 10pm and 11pm on August 4th 2014 – leaving only a single light or candle for this symbolic act of reflection and hope. In BF(G) we will be doing this local time. You can do this in your own quarters or see if there is a local event in your area. The important thing is that we commemorate and remember the sacrifices made by so many. I have an electronic pack for those that wish to organise their own vigil.
Please be careful: there is a e-mail threat being sent out in Germany, I had one this morning. It is called "Urheberrechtsverletzung" with an alleged lawyer stating an "Urheberrechtsverletzung" (copyright infringement) or file sharing. Sometimes they use the name of real lawyers. Do not open the attached zip file, it contains a virus! There have been warnings in the German media, too.
I recently started work and notice that I am being charged Church Tax on my pay advice. My company told me it is because I am a member of the church. I go to church at least once a month and donate when I can, but I never before considered myself a member of a church in that way - they make it seem like a club for members only! What happens if I do not pay the Church Tax? Will I get into trouble with the Finanzamt? Can I stop paying it now that I have already started? It is quite a lot of money each month and Germany is not a cheap place to live anyway.
