English Language Cinema in Buenos Aires

The majority of cinemas in Buenos Aires are located in modern multi-screen complexes with up-to-date technology, digital sound, I-max or 3D. Large cinema complexes can be found in most shopping malls.

Cinemas change their programming every Thursday, although the most popular films are screened for more than one week.

In general, foreign language films are shown in their original language with subtitles (subtitulado), although some films are shown dubbed (doblado al castellano). Children's films are generally dubbed into Spanish.

Local cinema listings show all film titles in Spanish, even if the film is shown in its original language. These listings can be found in most newspapers as well as on the CinesArgentinos website (in Spanish).

Ticket prices

Prices for cinema tickets vary depending on the venue, the day and the time. In general, Mondays to Wednesdays are cheaper than other days.

There are special reduced rates for children and senior citizens.

Several companies, for example credit card companies, cable TV providers and banks, offer special promotions for tickets, such as two for the price of one.
