Any person over the age of 14 who wishes to practise sport fishing (pesca deportiva) in the Province of Buenos Aires must have a fishing licence. The fishing licence must be carried at all times when fishing.

The procedure to obtain a licence is simple and can be completed online (in Spanish) and then printed. Licences are available annually or for three or 20 days. There is a fee for the licence, which must be paid at a bank, although licences are free of charge to seniors, war pensioners and people with disabilities.

  • Select the type of identity document and enter its number, for example, passport or DNI (National Identity Document)
  • Select the type of licence required

Alternatively, fishing licences are available from all local municipality offices.

Fishing Regulations

In general, only one rod per angler is permitted when fishing in inland waters. Fishing seasons, which depend on the fish species and the fishing area, must be respected.
