Payment by installments: Purchases are often paid for in several installments (pagos); it is not uncommon to be asked in how many installments you would like to pay for your shopping.

Paying by check: Payment by check is possible, although most transactions are by cash or credit card.

Bank charges

Banking is not free in Argentina. Most banks charge a monthly all-in fee for basic services, including a check book.

Opening hours

Most banks are open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 15:00.

Lost or Stolen Bank Cards

Any loss or theft should be reported immediately to the bank/credit card company to stop the checks and/or cancel the card. If the card is stolen, it is also necessary to go to the nearest police station (comisaria de policia) to file a formal police report as soon as possible.
