Drinking and Driving

Understand the blood alcohol laws in Argentina...

In Argentina it is forbidden to drive any vehicle with a blood alcohol level higher than 500 milligrams of alcohol per liter of blood. For drivers of motorcycles or scooters it is prohibited to drive with a level higher than 200 milligrams of alcohol per liter of blood.

For vehicles designed to carry passengers, cargo and children, any alcohol consumption is prohibited. A driver is punished regardless of the concentration of alcohol per liter of blood.

Drivers who exceed one gram of alcohol per liter of blood are considered to have committed a serious offense.

Drugs and Driving

The police or security forces may retain a person preventively for security reasons when a driver is caught under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substances that prevent normal psychophysical behavior, or if they presume a driver to be under the influence of any of these substances.
