Belgium by Bus and Coach

Find out how to get around Belgium using the bus and coach networks...

Many of the bus networks in Belgium are run by the same operators as the tram and metro services:

  • TEC runs bus services in Wallonia
  • De Lijn operates the bus network in Flanders
  • Bus services in Brussels are run by STIB

The cost of travelling on most services is cheaper if tickets are purchased in advance rather than on the bus itself. Tickets can be purchased online and in many newsagents and supermarkets. All transport services offer a variety of ticket types and passes that reduce the cost of travel. In most areas young children and people over the age of 65 can travel free of charge.

Eurolines operates international coach services throughout Europe and parts of North Africa. In Belgium the company serves Brussels, Bruges, Antwerp, Liège, Ghent and Mons. Timetable and ticket information is available on the company website. Tickets can be purchased online and a discount card is also available. A Eurolines pass allows the holder unlimited travel between 50 European cities over a 15 or 30 day period.
