Whereas in the past central state-owned providers were responsible for supplying China's utilities, over the last couple of decades the services have been privatised. Now each city has its own electricity, water and gas suppliers, which are competitive but still regulated by government bodies. Each company has its own methods for connection and payment, but the general procedures are outlined in this section.

Electricity Supply and Plugs
