Water and Sewage in Bogotá

Water and sewage services in the city are provided by a single company, EAAB or Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Bogotá.

For emergencies, damage reports, requests, complaints and information regarding the charges and billing of the water service, the company has a 24-hour toll-free line.

It is important when calling this line to know the zone number in which your house or building is located. The zone number can be found at the top right corner of the water bill.

  • Zona Norte and Zona Occidente are included in Zona 1

A contact number is provided during the call and it is important to save it in order to be able to keep track of the status of the request.

Electricity in Bogotá

Electricity in Bogotá is provided by CODENSA. The company has a toll-free line available for the reporting of emergencies, enquiries about electrical risk and to report a failure in the service, damages in public lightning or energy theft. Natural gas in Bogotá is provided by the Gas Natural Fenosa. The company provides an emergency only toll-free line and a customer support line for other inquiries and assistance.

Landline services are provided by companies that offer a variety of media services including cable/satellite TV, broadband Internet connection and mobile phones.

Each of these companies offers service centres in various points of the city, where information and assistance is provided.


CADE stands for Centro de Atención Distrital Especializado (Specialized District Attention Centre). As of 1991 they are in charge of dealing with citizen services for district entities, in particular public services.

There are 18 CADEs around the city, which offer information, payments, and collection for all the public services companies and have agreements with local banks.

SuperCADEs exist since 2004, and are located in strategic parts of the city. The seven buildings are equipped with the technology and infrastructure to hold large amounts of people and to carry out over 200 procedures.
