Information about some of the main beaches accessible from the centre of Copenhagen...
There are three beaches within a thirty-minute cycle ride of the centre of Copenhagen. These are supplemented by artificial Harbour Baths located along the waterfront.
Amager Beach (Amager Strandpark): Copenhagen's city beach is situated 5 Km out of the centre and 2 Km from the airport. It has 4.6 Km of white sandy beach divided into two parts: the mainland, along Amager Strandvej; and an island, which is connected by three bridges. The lagoon between the two has children's beaches and a 1,000m lane for swimmers and rowers. There are also areas for wind and kite surfing, water-skiing and kayaking. At the northern end of the island there are wide, sandy beaches and sand dunes, while at the southern end are a pier, a marina, recreation grounds, playing fields and a picnic site.
