Places of Interest in Brittany

Information on the main tourist attractions, places of interest and sights to see in Brittany...

Brittany is surrounded on three sides by water and has 1,700km of coastline. Brittany's north coast has some long sandy stretches of beach, while the Atlantic coast is a much more dramatic rocky windswept coastline. The region name, Finistère, in fact means "the end of the world".

The best beaches can be found in Dinard, Perros-Guirec, Trégastel, Douarnenez, Carnac, La Trinité-sur-Mer and La Baule.

Many beaches offer a wide range of water sports.

Mont St-Michel

A UNESCO heritage site lying between Brittany and Normandy, this national monument draws over 850,000 visitors a year. Places to visit include the museums, the Abbey of Mont St-Michel and St-Aubert's Chapel.
