Most countries have an Embassy or Consular Offices in Paris to deal with matters affecting their own nationals living in or visiting France. The UK and US also offer some consular services in the Midi-Pyrénées North region.

UK Citizens

The UK Consulate-General in Bordeaux has jurisdiction over the region.

The services include:

  • Registration of births
  • Information on transferring money between the UK and France
  • Providing help in the event of accident, hospitalisation or violent assault
  • Providing details of local lawyers, interpreters, doctors and funeral directors;
  • Offering support and contacting friends in a variety of extreme or distressing situations

US Citizens

The American Presence Post in Toulouse has jurisdiction over the Midi-Pyrenées region, though it only provides a limited range of services (including notarial, authentication and passport services) to American citizens. Appointments are necessary and requests must be made in writing via fax, email or post.

Consular services requiring a personal appearance are only available by appointment through the Consulate General in Marseille.
