Note: Most of this information is for services in French only.

Locally specific information for physically limited and differently abled people living in the region is available from the local Centre communal d'action sociale/CCAS, at the local Mairie, or Commission technique d'orientation et de reclassement professionnel/COTOREP.

  • The CCAS is an organisation that provides practical assistance and social interaction for elderly and disabled people. It also has specialised vehicles for people with reduced mobility
  • COTOREP is a government agency responsible for the recognition of disabled status. Enquire at the Mairie for the nearest offices

Local Associations for the Disabled and Mobility Reduced

L'Association Autisme Nord helps families with children with autism by providing specific strategies for education and promoting scientific research about autism.

Autisme 80 aims to help families with autistic children, and adolescents and adults. The organisation assists with social inclusion, helps prepare autistic children for adulthood, and generally works to give autistic people a better quality of life.

Sésame Autisme is an association for people with autism and their families. It works to bring affected people together for activities and friendship.

The Association des Paralysés de France provides information for paralysed people in France. It has special divisions for youth and for parents of children who are in wheelchairs. It also provides an online forum for discussion.

Transportation and Travel

Ulysse

Ulysse Transport provides transport service catering specifically to helping those with mobility problems. It also caters to transporting the elderly and infirm, the polyhandicapped, the blind, and disabled children to and from school. English-language service is not guaranteed.
