Crime Victims

When reporting a crime (dial 17 or 112), unless it's a major emergency the Police or Gendarmerie do not always come to the scene of the crime (for example in the event of a house burglary). In all cases the crime must be reported at the local Commissariat or Gendarmerie. It is possible, however, to report certain crimes online to save time, for example theft, vandalism or fraud). The person must then go to the local Commissariat or Gendarmerie to sign the declaration.
