The information you need if importing a foreign registered car to Monaco. Details on the documentation needed and the process to follow...
A foreign registered car can only be re-registered in Monaco if the owner is a resident of Monaco with a valid residency permit. The car owner must have a Monaco driving licence. The vehicle must conform to the legal standards set by the Monegasque authorities.
A non-resident who owns or rents property in Monaco (and has their name on the title deeds or rental contract) may register a vehicle in Monaco on an annual, renewable basis.

Obtaining a Duplicate Vehicle Registration Document
In the event of the loss of theft of the vehicle registration document (Certificat d'Immatriculation), a replacement can be obtained from the Service des Titres de Circulation.
The following documents must be provided in the event of loss:
- Completed Declaration of Loss and Replacement Request (Déclaration de perte de documents et demande de duplicata - form STC/040), Click here and scroll down to Obtenir et remplir le formulaire to download the document (in French)
- Proof of identity: passport, Monaco identity card or Carte de Séjour
The following documents must be provided in the event of a theft:
- Completed Declaration of Theft (Déclaration de Vol); available from the Sureté Public
- Proof of identity: passport, Monaco identity card or Carte de Séjour
Change of Address
Changing an address on a driver's licence or vehicle registration document can be done at the Direction de la Sûreté Publique de Monaco. For foreign residents in Monaco who are changing the address on a Carte de Séjour it is possible to request that other governmental agencies be informed of the change at the same time. This also includes the Service des Titres de Circulation, which will update the address on a vehicle registration document and driving licence.

A small fee is payable and the following documents are required:
- Completed Change of Address form (Demandes Diversés - form STC/042), Click here and scroll down to Obtenir et remplir le formulaire to download the document (in French)
- Proof of identity: passport, Monaco identity card or Carte de Séjour
- A colour passport size photo
- Original relevant documents (driving licence or certificat d'immatriculation)
- An electricity bill with the new address and/or a deed or lease may be requested
