Information on where and how to find full listings of what's on at the movies today, and in the near future. Where to find out what's showing in Berlin and how to book your seat at the cinema...
There are many cinemas (Kino) in Berlin showing films in their original language (Original Fassung or OF). Films listed as OmU (Original mit Untertiteln) are also shown in their original language, usually with German subtitles. In some cases, the original language of the film will be French, Spanish or Japanese. Films being shown in the original language with English subtitles are also sometimes listed as OF mit engl. UT (Original Version with English subtitles).
In addition, during the annual Berlin Film Festival in February there are multiple screenings of newly released original language films shown at mainstream cinemas which normally only show films dubbed into German. During summer, the Open Air Cinema screens many films in English.
A film's original language and other details can be checked on the Internet Movie Database, which provides information on the director, actors, reviews and awards.
Regular publications such as the bi-monthly Tip and Zitty have full cinema listings as well as the addresses and nearest public transport links. Berlin's daily newspapers also have (less comprehensive) cinema listings.
