Frankfurt is a popular city for gay residents and visitors and the city is generally considered “gay friendly”. The area between Konstablerwache, Bleichstrasse and Eschenheimer Turm has many popular gay bars, clubs and other businesses.

KUSS41 LesBiSchwules Jugendzentrum Frankfurt (KUSS41 LesBiGay Youth Centre Frankfurt) is a community centre for young adults from 14 to 27 years of age. The centre also offers support and advice to parents of gay teens.

Lesben- und Schwulenverband Hessen e.V. (LSVD - Lesbian and Gay Association Hessen) is an advocacy group for gays and lesbians in Germany. The association lobbies to represent the interests of the gay and lesbian community, provides legal advice as well as advice to gay and lesbian couples wishing to adopt or conceive.

The Lesbisch Kulturhaus (LSKH Gay Cultural House) is a facility open to provide a meeting place for gay and lesbian associations in Frankfurt. The house is managed and supported by two groups: emancipation eV and Lebendiges Lesben Leben Frankfurt eV (LLL – Lesbians Living Life Frankfurt).

Frankurt plays host the the annual Christopher Street Day festival in July. This multi-day gay-pride festival features live music, a street festival and a parade, and attracts over 200,000 visitors each year.
The city of Frankfurt publishes a City Guide for Gay and Lesbian Visitors. It includes information on gay-friendly accommodation and events.
The Frankfurter Volleyball Verein e.V. (Frankfurt Volleyball Club - FVV) began in 1985 as a sports club for gay volleyball players. Today the club is open to all and includes cycling, basketball, football, diving, rowing, tennis and many other sports. The club hosts tournaments and other events throughout the year and sponsors athletes from Eastern Europe.
