Citizens of the The United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand living in Germany can access information from the Consular sections of their relevant Embassies.

US/American Citizens

The consulate general in Frankfurt provides services to American citizens in the region. Services include: passport applications, replacements and renewals; notary services; the registration of births to American parents; and emergency assistance. All services require an appointment, which can be made online.

A Federal Benefits Unit (FBU) is available at the Frankfurt consulate general for residents of Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria that receive federal benefits from the following US agencies: Social Security Administration, Department of Veteran Affais, Department of Labor, Office of Personnel Management and the Railroad Retirement Board. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) also provides assistance to US citizens at the Frankfurt consulate general and can accept tax payments and returns. An appointment is required.

UK Citizens

UK nationals in Frankfurt can obtain consular services from the British Consulate-General Düsseldorf. Passport services and emergency assistance is available in the event of the injury or death of a British national, or in the event of a crime.

Visa applications are not processed through the Consulate-General and are instead processed through the UK Border Agency in conjunction with WorldBridge (a commercial venture).

Australians

The Australian Consulate-General in Frankfurt can provide notarial services and limited assistance in emergency situations.
