Sub is a gay support association that also runs a meeting place for gay men, friends, family and men seeking information about being gay in Munich. The centre has counselling services, language groups, a library, and bar.

LeTRa (Beratungsstelle des Lesbentelefon e.V.) is a centre that provides counselling and a community centre for lesbians in Munich. Services include relationship and individual counselling, coming-out assistance, group support meetings and help for lesbians whose families have rejected them due to their homosexuality. The centre hosts a support group for foreign lesbians in Munich.

The German AIDS Foundation (Deutsche AIDS-Hilfe) is a foundation that works to prevent AIDS transmission and represents the interests of those infected with HIV and AIDS, with branches throughout Germany, including Munich. The Munich branch offers workshops on AIDS prevention and also conducts low-cost anonymous AIDS tests.

Leisure and Major Events in Munich

Team München is an amateur sports club made up of lesbian, gay, heterosexual and transgender athletes. Sports represented include boxing, football, golf, table tennis and yoga. The club organises club sports matches, as well as tournaments.

Christopher Street Day is an annual, week-long gay pride event held to promote gay and lesbian equality and draw attention to issues that the gay community faces. The week includes a gay pride festival, street fair, information stands, clubbing and fun competitions.

Pink Christmas is a gay take on the traditional German Christmas market. It includes market stalls, mulled wine and entertainment. It takes place in the Glockenbachviertel (GBV), usually from late November to just before Christmas.

Queer Beer (QB) Munich takes place once a month, in the evening, for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people from Munich’s international communities. It is a chance to meet for a beer and to socialise in English.
