A paediatrician should be found for the baby, just prior to or after the birth, to perform routine examinations on the baby and administer immunisations. Six weeks after the baby’s birth, the mother will have a medical check-up with her gynaecologist or obstetrician.
Immunisations/vaccinations
Immunisations for babies and young children are administered by their paediatrician. The childhood vaccination schedule (as of April 2007) from the Greek Ministry of Health is as follows:
